Who's Who at Putnoe Heights Church

Minister: Rev Chris Sandy

I moved here from Southend and Leigh Circuit in Essex in 2021. I was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and presently studying for my PhD on Cross-cultural leadership in the Methodist Church in Britain. I am very excited to a part of and to serve in this Circuit, where I expect to see God's faithfulness doing exploits in the life of the Church and the community in general. During my spare time, I like to read, listen to music, or go for a walk, in order to experience the beauty of nature.

Senior Steward: Jenny Snelson

I have been worshipping at Putnoe Heights Church for almost 50 years. There is not part of this church community that I have not been involved with over the years and feel blessed that I have been called to serve in so many ways. As Senior Steward I lead a team of dedicated stewards who together work with the Circuit
Minister with Pastoral responsibility for our church, currently Rev Chris Sandy. To ensure Sunday worship runs smoothly, as well as meeting the wide range of pastoral needs within our church family.

Church Steward: Sue Allen

Resident in Putnoe and active member of Putnoe Heights Church since 1972. Spent 50 years as a pharmacist, mostly in locations around Bedfordshire before retiring in 2012. Trustee of The Butterfield Trust (a Methodist grant-making body) and is our contact with North Bedford Churches Together.

What do church stewards do?
Church Council Secretary / Safeguarding Officer: Christine Nixon

I’m a retired HR Adviser and Volunteer in the church office on Friday mornings, sending out the Mailchimp e-mail to Putnoe Members, supporting the Leadership Team with printing, posters, rotas and transport to services.

I organise the Church Council and Property Committee meetings, circulating reports and taking minutes.

I am also the designated Safeguarding Officer and I ensure all the right legal documents are in place, encourage training and keep records of DBS criminal records checks and training.

Treasurer: Andrew Dennison

Chartered accountant by day, I can't escape from the world of numbers outside of work either as I'm church treasurer.  But in free moments I enjoy gardening and bellringing at St Mary's (a fellow member of North Bedford Churches Together)
